Ja'Marr Chase
WR - Cincinnati Bengals
2024 Outlook
Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase was absent from the start of the team’s voluntary OTAs.
Fantasy Impact
This part of the offseason is voluntary, and there are multiple reasons Chase could be absent. Most often absences are related to contracts, and Chase is expected to get his contract extension at some point soon, but he has been candid about wanting to wait for former teammate WR Justin Jefferson to sign his potential market-resetting extension first. At this point in the offseason, his absence should be of little concern.
The Bengals exercised the fifth-year option on WR Ja'Marr Chase's contract. The expectation is that contract talks will begin soon.
Fantasy Impact
It's not surprising that the Bengals picked up Chase's option. The former top-five pick has been a massive piece of Cincinnati's offense whenever he plays and figures to reset the WR market, whenever he signs his new contract.
Ja'Marr Chase caught four of his six targets for 19 yards in a 31-14 win over the Browns in Week 18.
Fantasy Impact
Chase finished his third season on a quiet note, although he did get to exactly 100 catches, the first 100-catch season of his career. That being said, the seven touchdowns he hauled in were the worst mark of his career. The star wideout should have an even bigger season in 2024 as he will get Joe Burrow (wrist) back from a wrist injury.
Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (shoulder) says he will play on Sunday in the team's season finale and that he is at about "73%."
Fantasy Impact
Chase suffered a shoulder injury in Week 15 that held him out of Week 16, but he returned in Week 17. However, whether it was the shoulder injury or the Kansas City defense, he was limited in his production. Chase has a couple of records and thresholds to chase going into the final game, and it is likely he will look to pursue those.
Ja'Marr Chase was limited at practice on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Chase returned this past weekend. His ability to practice in any capacity on Wednesday gives him a good chance to play again this weekend, though the Bengals don't have anything to play for.
