Francisco Alvarez has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a left thumb sprain the club announced Saturday. (New York Mets on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Alvarez suffered the thumb injury during Friday night’s win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. In a corresponding roster move, the club selected the contract of Tomas Nido from Triple-A Syracuse. Expect Omar Narvaez and Nido to split time behind the plate until Alvarez returns for manager Carlos Mendoza.
