Zac Gallen racked up 10 strikeouts but took the loss in Saturday's 8-3 defeat to the Tigers.
Fantasy Impact:
He allowed three earned runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings, walking none. Despite the loss, Gallen's high strikeout total continues to bolster his fantasy value, especially in leagues that heavily reward strikeouts. His season ERA slightly increased to 3.02 and WHIP to 1.11, but these numbers still position him as a strong fantasy option. His consistent strikeout ability, evidenced by a 9.8 K/9 rate, and solid control, with a 3.93 strikeout-to-walk ratio, should keep him in the upper tier of fantasy starters.
