The Giants activated Luke Jackson (back) from the injured list.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson landed on the injured list with a back injury after the first game of the season. The team optioned Nick Avila to Triple-A in the corresponding move.
Luke Jackson will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Thursday with Single-A San Jose.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson was placed on the injured list after a relief appearance on Opening Day. He could be back in the Giants bullpen by the end of the week.
Luke Jackson was removed from his appearance Saturday against the Diamondbacks with lower back tightness.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson immediately signaled to the dugout after throwing a slider to Jake McCarthy. It was his ninth appearances since coming back from Tommy John surgery. The Giants should soon provide a further update on his status.
Luke Jackson underwent an MRI that revealed UCL damage.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson is undergoing more evaluation to determine his next steps. Usually, those next steps are Tommy John surgery. It is unfortunate news for Jackson and the Braves as he was dominant and a critical part of the Braves bullpen success last season. Over 63.2 regular season innings, Jackson had a 1.98 ERA and a 26.8 percent strikeout rate.
Braves manager Brian Snitker is uncertain if Luke Jackson will be available for Opening Day due to a forearm injury that shut him down early in Spring Training.
Fantasy Impact
Jackson isn't expected to miss much time even if he does begin the regular season injured, but it shouldn't have much impact on Atlanta's elite bullpen. With the addition of Kenley Jansen, the 30-year-old Jackson will likely not be much of a fantasy option in 2022.
