The Dodgers have optioned Gus Varland to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Varland was optioned to create room for a fresh arm for the bullpen as they have a bullpen game Wednesday. He could be back up with the team as a depth option at a later date.

Gus Varland's X-rays came back negative after he was hit by a 105.1 MPH line drive in Saturday's game vs the Padres.
