Rumors

Donovan Mitchell said he and his agents will meet with the Cavaliers "at the right time" to discuss his future with the organization. (Source: Evan Sidery on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Mitchell is eligible to sign a four-year, $209 million extension with Cleveland this offseason. If he declines it, he would likely be traded at some point.

Bruce Brown Jr. reportedly could be traded this offseason. (Source: Doug Smith)

Fantasy Impact: The Raptors have until June 29 (two days after the draft) to exercise an option on the $23 million Brown is owed next season. Toronto is expected to pick up the option and look to trade him. This will be a situation to monitor over the next month.

Devin Booker has reportedly been linked to the Thunder and Spurs this offseason. (Source: TheDunkCentral.com)

Fantasy Impact: After getting swept in the first round by the Timberwolves, it seems pretty evident that changes will be made with the Suns this offseason. Booker appears the most likely player to be moved between him, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. The Knicks have also been rumored to be interested in Booker with the Thunder and Spurs now reportedly being added to the mix.

Klay Thompson and the Orlando Magic reportedly have mutual interest. (Source: Shams Charania)

Fantasy Impact: According to Charania, "The Magic can open up an excess of sixty million dollars in cap space this offseason." After coming up short in its round one series against Cleveland, Orlando will likely be looking to add a shooter or two heading into next season with Thompson being a player to watch for.

The Los Angeles Lakers are among the front runners to sign guard Spencer Dinwiddie when he clears waivers. (Source: Dave McMenamin on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Lakers made no trades ahead of the deadline, so they'll likely attack the buyout market. Dinwiddie could offer them an immediate scorer whether he starts or is in the sixth-man role. He'll likely hold solid fantasy value wherever he lands.

Zach LaVine and the Bulls are both reportedly open to a trade as other NBA teams inquire about the star guard. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Bulls are off to a rough 4-8 start on the year, and they're currently searching for answers on how to turn their season around. Other NBA teams have reached out inquiring about the availability of LaVine, and it's reported that both he and the Bulls would be open to getting a deal done to send him to a different team. It remains to be seen if they will get anything done in the near future, but if they do, that would likely put them in rebuilding mode and open the door for players like Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White to get significantly more work for the rest of the season.

James Harden is expected to report to Philadelphia's training camp soon. (Source: Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Harden hasn't been with the team this offseason and wasn't at media day on Monday, but he's expected to be back very soon. He has wanted a trade all offseason, but he didn't get one and it finally appears that he will let it go. He will be an elite fantasy option as usual if he plays with no restrictions or drama to start the year.

Max Strus is expected to start at the small forward position for the Cavaliers this season. (Source: Chris Fedor on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Strus was picked up by the team in free agency and is expected to get a big role off the bat on his new team. He says that he expects to start at the small forward position, which was filled by Caris LeVert and Cedi Osman for much of last year. This is good news for his fantasy value and he's worth keeping an eye on as a late-round draft pick.

Ricky Rubio was not present at media day on Monday and remains away from the team indefinitely. (Source: Chris Fedor on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Rubio took a step away from basketball to focus on his mental health, and he still remains away from the team as we draw close to training camp. We haven't heard any update from him about when or if he will be back, but the team is hopeful he plays sometime this season. Caris LeVert and Max Strus will both get more work for however long the veteran remains away from the team for.

Kevin Porter Jr. will not be a part of the Rockets' team this season. (Source: Chris Mannix on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Porter has been absent from the team since being arrested for sexual assault, and it's now being reported that Houston has reached out to his representatives and told them that they won't be having him back on the team this year. It's unknown if they will try to trade him or cut him, but either way, he's not going to see the court for the foreseeable future. Cam Whitmore has been mentioned as someone who may get a bigger role this year as a result of Porter's absence.

The Pacers and Buddy Hield have stalled in their contract extension negotiations and are now exploring a possible trade. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Hield has been in Indiana for the past couple of seasons, but his time there may be coming to an end. Contract extension negotiations have stalled between him and the team, and they're now reportedly exploring a possible trade. That would carry some big fantasy implications for wherever he may end up, and both Bruce Brown Jr. and T.J. McConnell would be in line for more work if the veteran isn't on this roster to start the season.

Dwight Howard will be meeting with the Warriors about potentially signing with them. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Howard has been playing and dominating overseas recently, and the Warriors will bring him in for a visit and could possibly sign him. He'll play a depth role off of the bench if anything, so he probably won't carry much fantasy value even if a deal does get done before the season.

Joe Mazzulla confirmed Derrick White will start at point guard next year for Boston. (Source: Brian Robb on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: White will take over Marcus Smart's role as the Celtics starting point guard. White has shown flashes of huge scoring upside since he was traded from the Spurs to Boston, especially in games where he saw spot starts. The opportunity he might see is in question with Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown still taking a lot of shots, and the recently acquired Kristaps Porzingis likely commanding a significant role as well as a scorer. White should still command a bigger role this upcoming season as a starter compared to last year off the bench nonetheless.

Bradley Beal is expected to enter 2023-24 Suns training camp as the team’s starting point guard. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This news comes after the Suns traded Cam Payne to open up a roster spot to sign Bol Bol. Jordan Goodwin is expected to be listed as the backup point guard with Devin Booker likely also taking the ball up the court at times.

The Portland Trail Blazers have made it clear they are “open for business everywhere in the league” on trading Damian Lillard. (Source: Evan Sidery on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Lillard said he wanted to be traded to the Heat, but the Trail Blazers will be seeking the best return. Portland is reportedly seeking a combination of young players, draft picks and cap relief. This remains a situation to monitor.

Tyrese Maxey is not expected to sign an extension with the 76ers this summer. (Source: PhillyVoice.com)

Fantasy Impact: The 76ers reportedly still view Maxey as a long-term core piece. They could be holding off on the extension to try and sign him to a max deal next offseason. Maxey has also found his name in trade rumors if Damian Lillard is traded, but those all continue to be rumors. Assuming he stays with the 76ers, his role should take a huge step forward with James Harden expected to be traded.

Kyrie Irving is meeting with the Suns when free agency begins on Friday. (Source: Chris Haynes on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: It is tough to know how the Suns can make it work financially with Irving, but they're going to try and make it work. That would be quite the blockbuster move after already landing Bradley Beal in a trade. The Mavericks remain fully in the mix to bring Irving back as well.

Victor Wembanyama has decided to sit out the FIBA World Cup this summer and instead focus on his rookie season with the Spurs. He said his health is the main focus as the volume of games he plans to play in between the upcoming NBA season and next year's Olympics was just too much to add in FIBA as well.

Fantasy Impact: He has yet to play in any NBA action, but expectations are sky-high for the rookie. Taking his health seriously is a sign of maturity, something every team longs to see in their young players. That is especially true when they have potential stardom written all over them like Wemby.

The Boston Celtics are reportedly pursuing Kristaps Porzingis. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Porzingis would be an interesting fit for a championship contender in the Celtics. He is coming off a career season averaging over 23 points and eight rebounds on just under 50 percent shooting from the field. Porzingis could be a nice fit alongside Al Horford and Robert Williams in the Celtics front court. It would make sense the Wizards would look to trade Porzingis after recently trading Bradley Beal.

The Charlotte Hornets are reportedly "preparing" to select Brandon Miller with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft Thursday. (Source: Adrian Wojnarowski)

Fantasy Impact: It has always been between trading the pick or selecting Miller or Scoot Henderson. According to Woj, Miller impressed the Hornets in his second workout and they prefer his fit alongside LaMelo Ball. We will see if this selection comes to fruition on Thursday.
