With a very underwhelming WR depth chart as it currently stands, the Giants can ill-afford to lose Slayton. They'll be inclined to get this move done sooner rather than later.

Slayton continued his late-season surge on Sunday, as he scored for the second week in a row and recorded his first 100-yard game of the campaign. Over the last three weeks, Slayton has totaled 11 catches for 259 yards and two scores. He's unquestionably the top threat at wide receiver for the Giants right now.
Darius Slayton caught all three of his targets for 90 yards and a touchdown in a 33-25 loss to the Eagles in Week 16.

Slayton hauled in a 69-yard touchdown from Tyrod Taylor in the fourth quarter. On the play he caught a deep pass down the left sideline and stiff-armed his defender on the way to the end zone. Slayton has been productive over his past two games, catching seven passes for 153 yards and a touchdown. He will be a flex option in Week 17 against the Rams.
