Collins landed a three-year extension with the Colts earlier in the week, but it won't stop him from continuing to work to get better. “This is something I’ve been wishing for since I was a little kid," Collins said. "I’ve been playing football since I was five or six years old. The dream is to make it to the league and get that second contract. God has blessed me with the opportunity. And, now, I got it. I feel like, now, it’s motivation. I feel like there’s more to be proved.” Collins caught 80 passes for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns last season, and will now be in the wide receiver room with Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell.

Nico Collins has signed a 3-year contract extension worth approximately $72 million. This comes after his most successful season as a pro, tallying 80 catches for nearly 1300 yards and 8 touchdowns.

The Texans have now locked in one of their young stars at wide receiver for the next three years. The Texans currently have one of the strongest receiving trios in the entire league with Collins, Tank Dell and newly acquired Stefon Diggs. While this year may be tricky to parse out who will hit on any given week, Diggs is a free agent after the 2024 season, which could once again leave the majority of targets for Collins and Dell after this upcoming season.

Collins opened the game with a 75-yard touchdown pass. The 24-year-old has set career highs in receptions, targets, yards, and touchdowns with rookie C.J. Stroud at quarterback. Collins should be a favorite to lead the Texans’ wide receiver group in 2024.

Collins also added seven rushing yards to his solid fantasy day. He led the team in receptions, targets, and yards in the win. With the team losing Robert Woods and Noah Brown to injuries during the game, Collins could be in for a bevy of targets in Week 18 if either player is unable to suit up.
